St. Vincent: Two homicides in 48 hours

The island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), still reeling from the effects of the La Soufriere volcano, has recorded two homicides within 48 hours, according to police.

The first of the two homicides were recorded on Saturday evening, May 15, when Luciano Enville was found shot to death in Victoria Village in the South Windward constituency.

Police said the 20-year-old labourer of Diamonds/ Victoria Village, who was pronounced dead at the scene, is the 14th homicide victim in SVG to date, this year.

A few hours after this incident, in the early hours of Monday morning, May 17, police were alerted about the discovery of a dead body discovered on the Layou bridge at Layou, near the Public Works building.

The body has since been identified as that of 39-year-old Layou resident and laborer, Eddie DaBreo.

Police said Dabreo’s body has marks of violence including a stab wound to the neck.
