St. Vincent: Man’s buttocks set on fire

A man has been charged for setting another man’s buttocks on fire on May 8, 2021 in Granby, Canouan.

The accused, 33-year-old labourer Zorick Hepburn of Canouan, is charged with “unlawfully and maliciously inflicted grievous bodily harm” in which he is accused of fire to the buttocks of 32-year-old labourer, Eliston Caine, of the same address, police said in a news release.

When Hepburn appeared in the Kingstown Magistrate’s Court, he was also charged with damage to property in relation to the fiery destruction of the complainant’s pants and boxers, both valued at EC$80.

Hepburn was granted EC$2,000 after the prosecution offered no objection to bail.

The matter was transferred to the Canouan Magistrate’s Court.

Hepburn is scheduled to reappear in court on June 2, 2021.
