The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RVIPF) has announced the promotion of three veteran officers.
In a statement, the RVIPF said the Public Service Commission has appointed Wayne Charlery to the post of deputy commissioner of police effective June 1, 2021, and George Nicholas and Dr. Mashama Sealy promoted to assistant commissioner of police (ACP), effective May 17, 2021.
According to the statement, Charlery has served as the assistant commissioner of police with responsibility for operations as well as crime management. He has also served as the acting deputy commissioner of police with responsibility for operations in the past.
“Mr. Charlery will continue to serve as a member of the Executive of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force as we strive to creating a safer environment for all people in Saint Lucia,” the statement reads.
Meanwhile, the statement said Nicholas and Dr. Sealy have both acted in the capacity in which they were promoted, previously, with Nicholas having served as the ACP with responsibility for territorial policing, crime management, and operations, and Dr. Sealy having served as the ACP with responsibility for crime management and territorial policing.
“Their promotions mark their appointment as members of the Executive of the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. The Commissioner wishes both a successful tenure and looks forward to continued commitment to bettering the organisation,” the RVIPF said.
