Jamaica: Three reappear in court for businesswoman’s murder

Three persons, including a businesswoman, reappeared in the Manchester Parish Court on Wednesday, in connection with the murder of  63-year-old businesswoman Marcia Chin-you.

At the hearing, bail was extended for all three defendants: Shacquel Perkins, 24, a carpenter of Woodlawn Crescent; Dwayne Brown, 36, a security firm manager; and his 34-year-old girlfriend Zoie Forrester, businesswoman, both of Oakland Drive.

The trio is scheduled to come back to court on September 8, 2021.

In court on Wednesday, the magistrate was told that the prosecution was waiting for DNA results and other evidence from the forensics division.

Perkins and Brown were each granted JMD$800,000 bail and Forrester on a JMD$500,000 bond, on December 8, 2020.

The three were arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Chin-You whose body was discovered by neighbours on the evening of November 26 in her car which was parked in the driveway of her home in Ingleside, Mandeville.
