Bermuda: Two women arrested after police chase

Two women in their teens are in trouble with the law after causing the police to chase them after they broke a red light on Front Street on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

And to worsen their worries, police discovered that the motorcycle used by the women in the high-speed chase was stolen.

The accused are an 18-year-old of Smith’s and a 19-year-old from Devonshire, police said.

Police said in a statement:  “At around 9.15 p.m. on Wednesday, a police unit that was stationary on Front Street in the City of Hamilton observed the two suspects travelling east along Front Street on a motorcycle. The rider failed to stop for a red light at the junction of Front Street and Burnaby Street.

“Apparently, despite using the police vehicle’s lights and sirens, the rider led police on a pursuit, which ended in the Ferrars Lane, Pembroke area where both young women were detained.”

Police said the stolen motorcycle has since been impounded.
