Another homicide in Saint Lucia

Saint police officials are investigating the island’s second homicide within a three-day period.

The latest victim is 25-year-old Tony Edmund.

The shooting occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday, May 17 at Cul de Sac, Castries.

At least 22 people have been killed in Saint Lucia so far this year.

Residents reported a barrage of gunshots.

A video of the aftermath of the shooting has been posted on social media.

It shows the victim on the ground and a woman holding his head with her arm as another woman cries.

Someone is heard in the background calling out to the victim, “Tony! Tony!” while another states, “He have pulse.”

Circumstances surrounding the shooting is unclear and there are no reports of an arrest being made.

This homicide comes days after the shooting death of 28-year-old Donavan Evans, popularly known as ‘Movado’ (no relation to Jamaica’s recording artiste).

The incident occurred on Saturday evening, May 15, around 9 p.m. on New Dock Road in Vieux Fort.

Media reports say Evans was shot multiple times.

Relatives say they have no idea why someone would want to hurt or kill Evans, according to media reports.

Police sources say Evans is known to the police and the matter may be gang-related.
